Roll Notes: 1995 Lincoln Cent Strong Machine Doubling
Reverse of this 1995 has strong machine doubling across UNITED and STATES. Found 12/25 from a customer wrapped roll. Rather than parallel lines, there are a few degrees of rotation in the shape of the lower shelf that gave me serious pause. Raking the light across from the side shows the lower shelf clearly.
Close-up of the UNITED lettering showing flattened secondary impressions typical of mechanical (machine) doubling.
This is a good reminder that strong visual doubling alone isn’t enough. The character of the doubling matters more than how dramatic it looks.

Reverse detail near E • PLURIBUS • UNUM showing normal lettering without die doubling for comparison.

Detail of STATES where the doubled areas show a flat, shelf-like profile rather than rounded, split devices.
Obverse of the 1995 Lincoln cent showing normal device shape and circulation wear. No evidence of doubled die or strike-related errors on the obverse.
Full reverse of the 1995 Lincoln cent for context. No doubled die or other strike errors present.
